Almost 8 years ago, Thorben G. Jensen, CEO of OCTOPUS, bought a building that was to be fitted with 10-15 hotel rooms in various sizes.

Very quickly he discovered that the industry was missing an affordable, robust, and modern total system that could keep up with current trends and, above all, match the pace at which the hotel’s ideas were being implemented.

Patience with long support wait times for complicated systems, which could only handle half of the challenges at the hotel, wore thin – Thorben made the decision to develop a hotel and restaurant system himself.

Today, we call it OCTOPUS and offer hotels and restaurants a total system that is both user-friendly, fast, stable, and does not cost a fortune.

Our combination of customers, an industry in constant development, and our own development department has given us a high-quality system. With the slightest idea from our staff and new demands from customers or guests, the road to a finished solution is short. We can do that because we understand the challenges and have a strong and above all skilled in-house team.

Booking portals.

Over time, we have created many excellent integrations with various OTAs. More are continuously being added as popularity and demand grow. If your guests book via a booking portal, OCTOPUS will automatically reserve the room, thereby avoiding overbooking – it is immediately updated on all the other booking portals you have chosen, for example if they are sold out or if you have changed the prices.

Currently, we have almost 20 different booking portals that we have direct integration with – more will be added continuously as the needs of our customers arise.

Payment solutions.

With e-conomic, handling and bookkeeping of invoices and receipts becomes easier than ever before. All payments are linked to customer accounts, and all payments, cash register reports, and invoices are automatically transferred to your e-conomic system.

With OCTOPUS Cash Register, you also have the option to integrate your NETS payment terminal with OCTOPUS, so that all transactions are automatically recorded in the system.

If you want a payment solution without the physical terminals, it’s Vibrant you should look at. Here, payment takes place wirelessly and directly on an Android phone. Of course, it's fully integrated with OCTOPUS.

Danmarks Statistik

With just a few clicks, you can easily report the mandatory data to Statistics Denmark. All your data is electronic, so the system can immediately generate the correct statistics for the chosen period.

OCTOPUS HEAT™

​Danfoss Ally™-termostaterne er designet til at optimere energiforbruget og kan hjælpe med at reducere energiregningen. Ifølge Danfoss kan brugen af Ally™-appen til at planlægge opvarmningen efter daglige rutiner resultere i energibesparelser på op til 23% . Disse termostater er nemme at installere og kan automatisk justere temperaturen baseret på indstillingerne i OCTOPUS-systemet, såsom nattesænkning og lav varme på ledige værelser.​

Electronic Locks

​Guests may experience significant waiting and travel time before reaching your hotel. They shouldn't have to stand in line at the reception to receive a physical key—only to queue again to return it at check-out. ​Provide your guests with the option to use a PIN code for door access.​ All locks can be synchronized with OCTOPUS, resulting in substantial time and cost savings. This approach allows more time to serve your guests, ensuring they have the best experience with you.

Advantages of a self-service hotel

At a self-service hotel, guests can carry out most actions themselves – it is enormously time-saving and especially provides guests with an easy and flexible check-in and check-out.

By using technological innovations and automated total systems, it is possible for your guests to handle everything from booking and payment to room access and ordering additional services. In addition to a total system like OCTOPUS for gathering all the information, tasks, and bookings, the most important feature at a self-service hotel is the electronic locks. These locks allow guests to access their rooms using a PIN code that is sent to them via SMS or email. This way, guests can arrive at and leave the hotel without having to wait in line at the reception to receive information or exchange keys.

Another important feature is the electronic Personal Guestbook, where guests can read directly about the hotel, the area, experiences, parking, offers, and more. Guests can also use the guestbook to change personal details such as email, name, and billing address – everything is, of course, updated directly in the OCTOPUS system. Guests can also use the Personal Guestbook to order and pay for extra services (for example, breakfast, lunch box, transportation, or room service). At a self-service hotel, guests enjoy a more flexible experience, allowing them to manage their own needs and expectations in an easy and practical way.

Remember: We are not trying to make the reception staff unemployed, but rather to give them more time to serve and be there for the guests, so that they receive the best experience.

Vi oplever på vores egne hoteller, at gæster er utrolig glade for ikke være afhængig af en receptionist – som der ofte er kø hos, især ved udtjekning om morgenen, hvor man blot vil videre i sit program.

Som en ekstra service til gæsterne kan OCTOPUS også generere en QR-kode – som fx kan hænge ved indgangen – hvor gæster kan scanne og derefter logge ind med forudindstillet personlig oplysning (fx mailadresse, fulde navn eller mobilnummer). 

Denne funktion bruges typisk af gæster, som lynhurtigt vil se sit værelsesnummer og PIN-kode til døren – uden at skulle finde sin bekræftelsesmail eller Personlige Gæstebog frem.
