The story of OCTOPUS

OCTOPUS was developed by the telecommunications company ipnordic A/S in Gråsten, led by CEO Thorben G. Jensen. In March 2015, the company purchased the town's former city hall and transformed it into a hotel and restaurant named DET GAMLE RÅDHUS. This was where the idea for a new all-in-one system emerged, designed to make it easier and more cost-effective to be a hotel owner.

Thorben G. Jensen was shocked by how cumbersome and stressful it could be to constantly keep the hotel's availability updated across all the major online booking portals. Additionally, the cost quickly escalated, as prices for booking and reservation systems for both the hotel and restaurant easily reached thousands of kroner. Together with ipnordic's IT developers, he began developing a comprehensive system designed to address all the challenges hotel owners face. It was equally important to consider both affordability and user-friendliness, ensuring accessibility for everyone—whether operating a small Bed & Breakfast in Skagen or a large hotel in Copenhagen.
