At a self-service hotel, guests can carry out most actions themselves – it is enormously time-saving and especially provides guests with an easy and flexible check-in and check-out.

By using technological innovations and automated total systems, it is possible for your guests to handle everything from booking and payment to room access and ordering additional services. In addition to a total system like OCTOPUS for gathering all the information, tasks, and bookings, the most important feature at a self-service hotel is the electronic locks. These locks allow guests to access their rooms using a PIN code that is sent to them via SMS or email. This way, guests can arrive at and leave the hotel without having to wait in line at the reception to receive information or exchange keys.

Another important feature is the electronic Personal Guestbook, where guests can read directly about the hotel, the area, experiences, parking, offers, and more. Guests can also use the guestbook to change personal details such as email, name, and billing address – everything is, of course, updated directly in the OCTOPUS system. Guests can also use the Personal Guestbook to order and pay for extra services (for example, breakfast, lunch box, transportation, or room service). At a self-service hotel, guests enjoy a more flexible experience, allowing them to manage their own needs and expectations in an easy and practical way.

Vi oplever på vores egne hoteller, at gæster er utrolig glade for ikke være afhængig af en receptionist – som der ofte er kø hos, især ved udtjekning om morgenen, hvor man blot vil videre i sit program.

Som en ekstra service til gæsterne kan OCTOPUS også generere en QR-kode – som fx kan hænge ved indgangen – hvor gæster kan scanne og derefter logge ind med forudindstillet personlig oplysning (fx mailadresse, fulde navn eller mobilnummer). 

Denne funktion bruges typisk af gæster, som lynhurtigt vil se sit værelsesnummer og PIN-kode til døren – uden at skulle finde sin bekræftelsesmail eller Personlige Gæstebog frem.
