Our history
At OCTOPUS, we believe that good technology starts with understanding real needs.
OCTOPUS was developed by the telecommunications company ipnordic A/S in Gråsten, led by CEO Thorben G. Jensen. In March 2015, the company purchased the city's former town hall and converted it into a hotel and restaurant under the name DET GAMLE RÅDHUS. This is where the idea for a new total system arose that would make it easier and cheaper to be a hotel owner.
Thorben G. Jensen was shocked by how difficult and stressful it could be when the hotel's capacity had to be constantly updated on all the major online booking portals. At the same time, it became an expensive affair, because the price of booking and reservation systems for both the hotel and the restaurant quickly ran into many thousands of kroner. Together with ipnordic's IT developers, he set about devising one comprehensive system that would meet all the challenges that you experience as a hotel owner. At the same time, it was important to take into account both price and user-friendliness, so that everyone can participate – regardless of whether you run a small Bed & Breakfast in Skagen or a large hotel in Copenhagen.
