OCTOPUS Locks is a newly developed system that can easily be installed on most European doors. A handyman (or just someone with a bit of technical skill) can typically install a lock in less than 30 minutes. In many cases, it's not even necessary to replace the lock case, as the handle with built-in electronics can be mounted onto the existing lock case.
No power supply to the door is needed, as the locks are battery-operated and last approximately 12 months. A warning is sent via the included app when the batteries need to be replaced.
You don’t need to find your key every time you leave the house, as the lock can be set to automatically lock when the door closes. That means you don’t have to worry about whether the door is locked when you're at home or if you forgot to lock it when you were the last to leave the house or office. The locks can also be used on doors with three-point locking systems, garage doors, and elevators.
For example, give your children or guests the option to unlock the door with a code – and avoid lost keys and the hassle of handing them out and collecting them again. Likewise, temporary codes can be given to, for example, handymen to grant access.
If you want to access your locks online, you’ll need an internet module that connects to your WiFi. The module is set up via the app and communicates with the locks via Bluetooth, with a range of up to 20 meters. One internet module can connect to multiple locks – all you need is the included USB power adapter.

With the OCTOPUS Lock System, you can:
- Create lock groups, e.g. all rooms, linen rooms, suites etc.
- All room doors will be created automatically. You can thereafter linking several doors that must be opened when a booking is made for a room. For example, main door, restaurant door or universal door.
- Create all employees with associated PIN codes as well as make key cards. Here you specify which doors the employee must have access to.
- View status on all Internet modules (online/offline). You can also see which doors are connected.
- View history on all doors. Door openings, PIN codes used, incorrect entries, alarms if there have been too many attempts, etc.
- See all doors with the option to:
- Open and close doors.
- Get door status (open/closed).
- Battery status: 0-100%.
- See PIN codes and key cards associated with the door.
- Specify passage mode (Opening hours for specific doors: Dates, days, times, etc.)
- View active PIN codes/key cards for all doors. Search by guest, room, etc.
- Opportunity to Get an email when a door opens. Can be smart if you want to monitor important doors like e.g. the office, a back door or something else.
- We can send emails to all guestswho books a room that contains auto-generated PIN codes, which will let the guest in through the doors you have chosen, e.g. the room, the front door, etc. Access is closed again upon check-out.
