OCTOPUS HEAT

OCTOPUS HEAT ™

Save at least 30% on your energy bill with OCTOPUS HEAT™

Automatic control of heat consumption

With the OCTOPUS system, you can automatically set the temperature in the rooms – both those in use and those that are not.

The integration with Danfoss Ally™ and SONOFF products gives you many possibilities. For example, you can set the system to automatically turn on the heating 3 hours before arrival – and likewise, automatically lower the heat 2 hours before checkout, when guests are typically showering, packing, having breakfast, or already on their way out.

You can, of course, control all your rooms, including hotel rooms, meeting rooms, staff areas, etc., and different settings can be configured for each location/area.

Another way to save even more on your energy bill could be to configure a slight nighttime temperature reduction. Lowering the temperature by just a degree or two can make a big difference in the long run!

Other benefits include the ability to set a minimum and maximum temperature for guests – or a 'child lock' feature that completely prevents guests from manually adjusting the room temperature.

The system also checks for open windows (if the thermostat is near the window) and shuts off the heating during ventilation.

The thermostats are easy to install, as the entire system is wireless—and they fit most radiators.

Additionally, the system only requires an internet connection via a gateway before you can enjoy outstanding precision and impressive energy savings!

Example of a weekend stay:

  • 1 hour before check-in, the room temperature is automatically raised to 20 degrees.
Guests can always adjust the temperature afterward within a range that you specify.
    We recommend between 16–24 degrees.

  • At 11 PM, the temperature is lowered to 17 degrees for the night, as we assume the guest has gone to bed or will do so shortly.

  • At 5 AM, the temperature is raised back to 20 degrees so the room can warm up before the guest gets up.

  • At 10 AM, the temperature is lowered again to 17 degrees, as most hotel guests leave the hotel during the day to explore the local area, meet with family and friends, etc.

  • At 4 PM, we raise the temperature back to 20 degrees, as the room should of course be warm before the guest returns.

Remember: The guest can always adjust the temperature themselves, if desired.

  • At 11 PM, the nighttime temperature reduction to 17 degrees is activated again.

  • At 5 AM, the temperature is raised to 20 degrees.

  • At 8 AM, the temperature is lowered to 17 degrees, as the guest will be checking out on this day and is typically busy showering, eating breakfast, packing their suitcase, etc.

Note: If the guest has manually set the thermostat to a lower temperature than the system’s scheduled adjustment, the system will not override it, as the guest might prefer a cooler room for sleeping. This choice is, of course, respected—and it saves energy!
